For couples who are getting married and are unsure about wedding stationery, let me fill you in!
When ordering your wedding stationery, firstly think about what style or vibe you want your wedding to be, what your budget is, formality of the wording,
Save the Dates- These are a perfect if you are getting married abroad or have booked the wedding over a year away and you have lots of family and friends that live all over the place or with busy schedules. It is great for them to be able to book the time off work and arrange accommodation in good time! Send save the dates out between 8-12 months.
Invitations are essential! The best time to order your wedding invitations is 6 months in advance, especially if you are having bespoke invitations, which can take up to 4 weeks to make. I personally recommend pocketfold invitations as you can include inserts for your RSVP, Information card and a Gift poem Card. Ordering your invitations slightly early can make the process less stressful, you can actually enjoy sending them out and crossing it off your wedding list. You should send them out between 8-10 weeks in advance.
RSVPs should be sent at the same time as your wedding invitations. There should be a return date on the RSVP to return within 4-6 weeks before the wedding so that you can let the caterers know numbers, and it also important for the table plan and numbers for on the day stationery, including order of services, menus, and name cards.
After ordering your wedding invitations, the next time you will need to order any stationery will be in the month leading up to the big day. This will include order of services, menus, name place cards, a table plan, welcome signs and other signage.
Ordering your on the day stationery from the same supplier who made your invitations is much more straight forward and can be a quicker process than ordering from someone else, as the original supplier has the design and can incorporate it into all your other stationery making it cohesive.
